Montgomery Rangers
Saturday, 19th September the Montgomery Rangers spent a day taking the air on a horse drawn narrow boat. Organized by the Rangers as part of a Centenary launch, the Rangers experienced a part of what life would have been like on a typical narrow boat during the industrial revolution. The Rangers are using the experiance as part of their 100 year challange badge. The Montgomeryshire Canal horse drawn narrow boat is one of a few running in the UK and this has provided a unique opportunity for the girls.
The Rangers did not let all the hard work go to the horse, on one part of the route there combined leg power helped to get the narrow boat through a tunnel. Having gathered speed, they managed to ground the boat on the other side which meant more work for the horse to get them back into deeper water!
